A big thank you to everyone who helped make our Cookie Dough campaign a success. We sold just over $2700 worth of cookies and we will soon know how much of that translates into "dough" for our library :) Josephine was the lucky winner of the iTunes card!
Cookie Dough delivery is expected to be December 16th
NHS believes that in this economic climate it seems unfair to request parents to purchase materials they may not really want or need in order to help out the library. However, fundraising remains one of the ways in which we can purchase new library materials without a lot of impact on the school budget.
The library holds two book fairs a year during the weeks of parent/teacher interviews. One in mid to late November and another in mid to late March. Our commission can be taken in several ways - product only, cash only, or cash/product combination. For the last few book fairs we have taken the latter option of cash and product, thus enabling us to purchase library materials outside of the Scholastic publishing realm.
For our first bookfair of the year, we are excited to open a cafe next to the bookfair where parents can enjoy a free beverage and sample some delicious cookies. If you really enjoy the cookies, we will be taking orders for the frozen cookie dough which will be delivered just in time for Christmas baking. The proceeds from the sale of the cookie dough will help purchase new materials for the library to keep the kids up to date on the latest and greatest books.
